Where it all began...
Stange & Co was originally a shop keeping business having owned and operated all manner of stores in its time ranging from greengrocers and florists to hair dressers and tobacconists.
The move into pubs from shop keeping was by the second generation of the family, Bill Rowlands who believed in 1981 that pubs in and around North Wales weren’t up to much and thought he could do a lot better!
Cask Ale Reputation
Our pubs have an excellent reputation for their real ales which have been recognised by Cask Marque and awarded accordingly. Our managers are proud of the beer they serve and endeavour to offer our customers a diverse range of quality beers from national, regional and local micro breweries. As all of our pubs are freehouses, it means we tend to specialise in our guest beers from local breweries.

We are a family run business operating a small group of public houses and hotels. Stange & Co which was established over 100 years ago has eight outlets on the Wirral peninsula, in Cheshire and North Wales.
All of our pubs and hotels have a unique feel and style to them yet all manage to maintain their traditional charm and characteristics that attracted us to them in the first place.
